Saturday Night - August 28th, 2010 - 9:00 PM
 I am sure it doesn't really matter...and I am sure the picture could never do it justice, but we went downtown Detroit today (yes it is really safe and lots of fun) to the Eastern Market. Saturday is open to the public to shop and it was great fun. The picture I posted here is of BBQ hamburgers that were one pound each! One pound! No, I didn't have one but I will never forget the beauty of the sight of them. On another note, Glen Beck said at a rally today that America needs to get back to God. So my suggestion is for America to get back to church. That starts with YOU. |

We have placed in our bulletin, once again, our "Voice From The Pew" forms. This is a wonderful tool for any pastor. It allows anyone in the congregation to request a vist from the pastor, a song to be sung, or the item most often used - A request for a particular sermon to be preached. This Wednesday I will be preaching, by request, a sermon on "Cremation - Is it for the Christian?". Come and be a part.

 I heard a brief news story this morning stating an ever growing interest in the Amish way of life. The reason for the interest is the purity and chastity of the Amish people. How sad it is that our Independent "Fundamental" Baptists no longer have this testimony. Our people look, dress, and act exactly like the world, so when the world looks for "salvation" they will no longer come to us, but rather, turn to the Amish to find a 100% new life. Christian, you need to end the mixed bathing, dancing, dressing like the world, acting like the world and get back to the separated life Christ has called us to. Every home needs to end the idea of "dating" and get back to safe "home visits" with parental invlovement until the day our young people get married. Do it TODAY!!
