The Alvarez’s are serving at Silvercrest Baptist as Children’s Ministry Leaders. This couple began to serve in this ministry this summer working with inner-city teens ranging from ten to nineteen years old every Wednesday night. Making Children’s Church exciting and fun, the Alvarez’s are helping children of various ages to learn about Jesus Christ at their level. Additionally, Ken and Sharon are trained caregivers and serve as live-in caregivers.

The Alvarez’s, as Reformer Unanimous Directors at Gateway Baptist Church for a year, worked with the addicted from the VA Beach, VA area teaching them that true freedom comes from the Lord Jesus. They started the VA Beach Chapter from the ground up leading many to Christ and helping them to grow in the knowledge of Christ.

Brother Ken and Sister Sharon Alvarez have spent four years as Single Military Ministry Leaders at Calvary Baptist Church located in Sicily, Italy. Working with military singles, the Alvarez’s had a robust ministry reaching many for Christ and many who are now in full-time ministry.

Working with the military singles in the Virginia Tidewater area, the Alvarez’s served at the Lighthouse Servicemen’s Center associated with Gateway Baptist Church for two years. As such, they conducted Bible studies, enforced residential standards, and counseled servicemen. On weekly visitation they have reached many with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Brother Ken served as the Military Sunday School Teacher.
